Northampton School Committee approves superintendent contract with moving expenses and salary raise. The committee voted 7-3 to approve up to $4,000 in moving expense reimbursement for superintendent Ms. Azarloza, with Mayor Gina-Louise Sciarra authorized to consult the city human resources director and auditor on allowable expenses.
The committee unanimously approved 3 percent annual salary increases upon proficient or higher ratings. A complex tiered severance structure for the contract's first year was unanimously approved, providing no severance at four months notice, escalating to four months severance at one month or less notice.
