Other Committee · Meeting of July 30, 2026

Northampton Housing Authority commissioners approved a 23-month contract making Sharon Kimball permanent executive director. The board voted 5-0 to set her salary at $185,036 a year for 37.5 hours a week, running from August 1, 2026, through June 30, 2028. Commissioners said the figure came from a state Executive Office of Housing and Livable Communities worksheet and "couldn't be amended," according to a commissioner identified as Jim, who served on the negotiating team.

Kimball, previously the authority's accountant for 14 years, will not receive a take-home vehicle like her two predecessors and will instead get mileage reimbursement. An earlier roll-call vote that meeting passed 4-0 with one commissioner, identified as Tarbont, abstaining for lack of "due diligence." Commissioner Brashkin closed the meeting with "deep appreciation" for Kimball's work.
