Other Committee · Meeting of May 20, 2026

NORTHAMPTON — The Northampton License Commission closed a hearing on NoHo Social LLC's dormant liquor license and ordered a legal review after a King Street tenant said the license was approved without a valid lease in place. Chair Natasha Yakovlev and Commissioner Jennifer Ewers, the only two members present, voted 2-0 on every item, including closing the hearing, and agreed to consult Attorney Seawald before deciding whether to revoke the license tied to manager of record Thomas Casper, who has not responded to two certified letters. Kot Kassam, who holds the current 261 King Street lease, told the board "we actually wanted the liquor license." Ewers called the discrepancy a potential "misrepresentation." The commission also voted to hold a violation hearing over a May 17 underage-drinking incident at TELUS and Satellite Bar, and approved seasonal licenses for events including the Taste of Northampton.
