Other Committee · Meeting of October 5, 2026

Northampton's council committee unanimously recommended Richard Parasolini as public works director and Angie Gregory as central services director. Parasolini, the former tree warden, pledged better coordination with utilities like Eversource and National Grid after councilors said residents get blindsided by unannounced construction. Councilor Dubbs pressed for a citywide fix to "frozen spot" sidewalk non-conformities, citing non-compliant Finn Street curb cuts.

Gregory, newly a week into the job, fielded questions on a stalled Pulaski Park water fountain and a $100,000 municipal-buildings consultant report now in draft, while Councilor Stratton flagged a $1.8 million city hall roof and a $450,000 Academy of Music boiler as possible Community Preservation Act candidates. The committee also forwarded Jane Morrison to the Northampton Housing Authority and Fred Beddahl to the Agricultural Commission, both unanimous.
