Northampton Zoning Board approves solar canopies and garage expansion. The board unanimously approved a findings permit for Parallel Products Solar Energy to construct ten solar canopies on an auto salvage site at 182 Mount Tom Road, determining the project would substantially improve the property and provide visual screening. In a separate case, the board also unanimously approved a special permit for Louis Montgomery and Lynn Reagan to widen an attached garage at 118 Lake Street in Florence; the approval does not cover a rear detached garage shown in the plans.
