NORTHAMPTON — The Northampton superintendent search committee elects new chair after close runoff vote. In a second ballot, Renika Montgomery-Tamakloe defeated Johanna Radding eight to seven for the role. The 16-member committee unanimously approved anti-bias training led by former School Committee member Dina Levi and heard from Attorney Layla Taylor on Open Meeting Law constraints, including a ban on quorum-level deliberations outside public sessions.
Finalization of the hiring rubric was deferred to February 24.
