Northampton School Committee Budget & Property Subcommittee · Meeting of September 14, 2026

Northampton school budget panel reviews FY27 Title I allocation and transportation plans. The Budget and Property Subcommittee heard a report from Business Administrator Ann-Marie Dasilva Nembirkow on FY26 closeout and FY27 allocations including $496,855 in Title I funds, $868,000 in IDEA grants, and a $50,000 cell phone ban grant from the Attorney General's office. Superintendent Annie Azarloza reported that all four elementary schools now qualify for Title I services; Bridge Street Elementary qualifies for school-wide services without a waiver, while three others require a waiver.

Superintendent Azarloza also announced plans to hire three new transportation drivers for vans expected to arrive in early 2027, with the expansion expected to be cost-neutral or cost-saving.
