School Committee adopts revised rules, names vice-chair, sets 2026 calendar.

Northampton School Committee adopts revised Rules of Procedure and moves meeting end time to 9:30 pm. Mayor Gina-Louise Sciarra proposed eight amendments, including alignment with the town Charter and language revisions from "citizens" to "residents," approved unanimously. Member Alena Bartoli was elected Vice-Chair with six votes over Member Renika Montgomery-Tamakloe's three; Member Robbie Saner Sullivan was elected Warrant Officer 9-1.

The Committee approved a 2026 meeting calendar 4-3-3 after removing subcommittee listings and adding a March 2 rules-and-norms retreat. Principal Ben Taglieri introduced an A-B alternating-day schedule for the 2026-2027 Program of Study to offer students additional course options while addressing class-size constraints at the high school.
