Other Committee · Meeting of June 8, 2026

NORTHAMPTON — The Northampton License Commission voted 2-1 to clear Telus and the Satellite Bar of an underage-entry violation tied to a May 17 incident. Manager Amanda Reisling testified the bar, at 150 Main Street, uses no ID scanner and relies on visual checks and hand stamps, and said "anyone coming into the bar... has their identification checked again" since the incident. Police Chief John Cartledge had recommended a two-day suspension after officers found a 20-year-old, Ryland Illingsworth, vomiting outside a building near the bar's parking lot using his brother's expired license to get in.

Commissioner Natasha voted that a violation was probable; Amy and Jennifer voted the evidence showed only possibility, not probability, with no stamp photo, purchase records or door camera footage tying the entry specifically to Telus. The case marked the bar's third appearance before the commission this year, following a May 11 overcrowding violation that left one suspension in abeyance for six months.
