Legislative Matters elects Loisel chair, backs Finn Street stop ordinance

Northampton Legislative Matters Committee elects new leadership and backs Finn Street stop sign. The committee voted to make Laurie Loisel chair and Garrick Perry vice chair at its February 9 organizational meeting. Councilor Chris Stratton voted against both elections, questioning the procedural approach to committee work.

On substantive business, the committee voted 3-1 to recommend approval of Ordinance 26.010, establishing an all-way stop sign at Finn Street and Prospect Street, with Stratton again dissenting over concerns about the engineering analysis and lack of documented pedestrian crashes at the intersection.
