NORTHAMPTON — Housing Partnership approves prior minutes and formally seats new member. The Vice-Chair Hannah Shaffer led the April 6 meeting of the five-member committee in the absence of Chair Bev Bates, welcoming newly appointed Yakov Kronrod, a Northampton resident and advocate for affordable housing and cooperative ownership. Members discussed reviving the Municipal Affordable Housing Trust Fund as a potential repository for Airbnb tax revenue, with Keith Benoit noting the city has already collected roughly $50,000 from Airbnbs for the Prospect Place project.
Tenants have begun occupying Prospect Place on Bridge Road, which recently opened a Valley Bike Share station for residents without personal vehicles.
