NORTHAMPTON — Fiscal Assessment Task Force establishes governance and schedules September forums. All 13 members of the FACT Force, designated to analyze city finances and prepare for a likely FY2028 override vote, participated in their first organizational meeting via Zoom on Thursday, August 12. Chair Robert Boulrice opened the session with a reading of the task force's purpose, as outlined by Mayor Sciarra, to examine revenues, expenditures, and the balance between maintaining services and affordability.
The task force voted unanimously to approve operating procedures, established a speakers list to be maintained by Vice Chair Julie Spencer-Robinson, and scheduled two public input forums for September 19 and September 30 to gather community feedback on the city's fiscal situation.
