Northampton School Committee · Meeting of May 14, 2026
NORTHAMPTON — Committee approves Superintendent Azarloza on three-year contract. The Northampton School Committee voted 8-1 to approve a three-year contract with Superintendent Annie Azarloza, with Member Michael Stein dissenting. A proposed memorandum of agreement for special education teachers' IEP coordination ended in a 4-4-1 tie vote, failing to pass; Superintendent Bonner said this marked the first time the Committee's public session vote differed from its executive session vote, prompting referral to counsel.
The Committee also referred field trip policy proposals to the Rules & Policy Subcommittee, increased the Sullivan, Hayes & Quinn legal services contract by $40,000, and accepted donations totaling $7,200 for early childhood and literacy programs.
