City Council Approves $939,000 in Community Preservation Funding

Northampton City Council approves nearly $939,000 in Community Preservation Act funding for five infrastructure and heritage projects. The council voted 7 to 1 on three major appropriations: $145,583 for Coolidge Museum lighting, $202,000 for accessible rail trail entrance design, and $330,111 for Nashawannuck Brook restoration, with Councilor Christopher Stratton the sole opponent on each. Two additional CPA appropriations totaling $261,285 were approved by consent.
The council also transferred $656,012 from Free Cash to cover a snow and ice account deficit from an exceptionally severe winter.
