NORTHAMPTON — Board of Health reviews tobacco rule edits and hears Valley Recycling proposal. Dr. Joanne Levin and Commissioner Merridith O'Leary oversaw final edits to Northampton's tobacco regulations to align with Massachusetts state standards and updated enforcement language.
Rick Pitts of Valley Recycling presented a request to increase daily processing tonnage by 150 to 200 tons, from a current limit of 324 tons, citing increased customer demand and transportation costs. The Board will hold a public hearing before the state Department of Environmental Protection makes a final determination on the site modification request. ===BRIEF===
